Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Train in basic measurements, assembly, safety, read drawings and many other manufacturing processes
  • Under supervision operate CNC Milling Machines, Horizontal Boring Machines, Turning & Lathes, drill presses, cut off saws  
  • Edit and update CNC programs 
  • Rebuild dies and components
  • Clean fixtures
  • Change fixtures in presses  
  • Inspect fixtures
  • Adhere to all safety directives/requirements within the area and facility
  • Practice good house keeping

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 - 9)
  • Maths (grade 4 - 9)
