Work

What you'll do at work
Most of your apprenticeship will be spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience, as well as attending college on a day-release basis to gain professional knowledge and skills and achieve a Construction Site Supervisor (Level 4) qualification.
As an Apprentice Construction Site Manager, you will learn skills and knowledge in:
- Supervision of specialist contractors
- The control of health and safety standards on construction projects
- Recording, control and reporting of progress on a construction project
- The minimisation of the environmental impact of construction projects
- Control of quality of works on a construction project
- Assisting commercial staff with the monitoring of costs on a construction project
- Personnel management, engagement and coordination

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
- Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
- Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
- Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
- Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
- Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
- Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.
Training schedule
This apprenticeship is delivered as a weekly day release at our Institute of Technology based in Canning Town, E14.

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 5)
- Maths (grade 5)
- Science (grade 5)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
This role will require working outdoors in a variety of conditions. Due to the section 106 agreement, the candidate MUST reside in Camden, Hackney, Haringey, Islington, Southwark, Lambeth, Kensington & Chelsea, Lewisham, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth, City of Westminster or the City of London.
