Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our IT Services team as an apprentice. While studying for a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician qualification, you will gain practical experience in providing first-line technical support, maintaining IT equipment and systems, and assisting with projects across both schools.

What you'll do at work

Key responsibilities:
First-line Support
- Respond to IT support requests from staff and students via our helpdesk system, email, or in person
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity
Equipment Setup & Maintenance
- Install, configure, and test IT equipment, including PCs, laptops, printers, projectors, and interactive whiteboards
- Assist with regular maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and systems remain reliable and secure
User Support & Training
- Provide guidance to staff and students on the use of school systems and applications
- Support the induction of new staff with IT systems and processes
System Administration
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and email systems
- Help maintain accurate asset registers and records of repairs or replacements
Project Support
- Participate in IT improvement projects such as upgrades, deployments, and system migrations
- Assist in testing new software and hardware solutions
Health & Safety / Compliance
- Follow data protection and safeguarding policies at all times
- Ensure IT equipment is handled safely and securely

Training schedule
- Expected duration: 16 months

During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with LearnTech, delivered through combined weekly remote classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning, working towards completing the Information Communication Technician standard.

Other requirements
It is a requirement to have five GCSE 9-4 grades or equivalent (including English and maths) to apply for this type of apprenticeship. If you do not have these grades but have completed numeracy and literacy Key Skills/Functional Skills at level two you may also apply for these apprenticeships. You must also meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the role: Have been a UK/EEA resident for the last 3 years. Hold a valid residency status. Have the right to work in the UK.
