Summary
Jackson Stapleton Accountants have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our expanding team at our Scunthorpe office, as an Accounts Apprentice. You will be studying AAT Level 2 or 3, depending on your current experience and qualifications.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience.
You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
The duties and responsibilities involved in this role will involve:
- Accounts preparation
- Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Bookkeeping
- Bank Reconciliations
- VAT Return preparation
- Assisting team members
- Greeting clients when they come into the office
- Filing, scanning and emailing documents to clients
- Answering phone calls from clients

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training schedule
- Training will be at North Lindsey College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer
- Day release
- You will undertake the Accounts or Finance Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
- You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or maths if needed
- You will undertake both on and off the job training by a team of industry-qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge, and experience

Other requirements
You must be able to travel to and from work and college. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
