This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gain hands-on experience with precision tools, and work towards a nationally recognised Level 2 Engineering Operative qualification.

Wage

£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprentice, you’ll be part of a skilled workshop team producing high-quality precision components for a wide range of industries. Your role will include:

  • Learning to operate lathes and, as you progress, moving on to milling machines and CNC equipment
  • Working to exact technical drawings and measurements
  • Supporting the manufacture, assembly, and finishing of precision parts
  • Using hand tools and measuring devices to maintain quality standards
  • Assisting with maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Following strict health and safety procedures
  • Keeping your workspace clean, tidy, and well-organised
  • Supporting colleagues on day-to-day projects and urgent jobs

Training schedule

Training will be delivered in partnership with Hull College, a leading provider of engineering apprenticeships. You will spend most of your time gaining practical experience in our workshop, with regular training either on day release or in blocks to complete your Level 2 Engineering Operative qualification.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4 or above)
  • Maths (grade 4 or above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
