Summary

Working within the Resistors Development and Process Engineering teams to help with the design of new products and processes and supporting day-to-day production, troubleshooting issues within manufacturing. In addition to this, you will also assist with improving established processes or designs to maximise production efficiency.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Day-to-day support of production, troubleshooting issues with product or manufacturing processes.
  • Supporting the development of new Resistor products.
  • Developing and optimising processes for new or established products
  • Producing technical documentation, such as operating instructions and specifications
  • Producing technical reports for test results or process trials
  • Development of technical drawings for products and fixtures.
  • Carrying out testing for engineering trials or the qualification of new designs.
  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to when implementing new products, processes or equipment.
  • Work with other departments to support investigations.

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4-9)
  • Maths (grade 4-9)
