Summary
A rare opportunity has risen to recruit a new warehouse apprentice who will also be developing a very specific skill set and trade in the hydraulic industry in a very small dedicated team with a specific role. You'll take stock, keep the area tidy and handle orders in the warehouse.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Construct hose assemblies (i.e., picking of parts for the assembly, cut hose, skive, swage, check, test, etc.)
- When required, serve customers on our Trade Counter who require hose assemblies making to their requirements/sample.
- Carry out basic checks and maintenance on the machines in your work area.
- Keep your work area clean and tidy.
- Assist the OEM hose build team when required.
- Package customer orders and place completed orders within the designated areas in the warehouse.
- Assist with the weekly stock taking processes in line with company procedures.
- Assist with the checking of incoming supplier orders. Assist with the location of stock into designated storage areas in the warehouse.
- You maybe required to assist with the picking of orders as part of your day to day duties.

- Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
- Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
- Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
- Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
- Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
- support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
- Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
- Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
- Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.

Training schedule
- Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Apprenticeship Standard
- End point assessment
- Will go through a recognised hose assembly course which is delivered at our premises by the BFPA (British Fluid Power Association).
- 20% off the job training (minimum 6 hours weekly)
Requirements
Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 3 or above)
- Maths (grade 3 or above)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
