Summary

The L&D Apprentice will be based in the HR team at McVitie's Harlesden and will support a variety of teams preparing reports, data and presentations and managing Dynamic Standard Operating Procedures (DSOP’s) process by ensuring all documentation is clear, consistent and compliant.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • You will prepare for and support new employee site inductionsTo upload and maintain DSOP’s and training records in accordance to compliance standards
  • To support the Team Managers in completion of the skills training competency questions and upload on to database
  • Coordinate and enhance internal and external communications across site
  • Involved in preparation of reports, presentations and data analysis to support business decision-making
  • Provide administrative support across manufacturing departments to ensure efficient operations
  • To support cost effective projects such as sustainability
  • Support the coordination of activities aligned to local charity and community engagement
  • Assist the HR team with projects such as employee engagement, training days and induction programme

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Identification of training/learning needs: Identify and analyse learning needs: establish team and individual capability and learning gaps, in line with organisational performance outcomes and to enable effective evaluation. This may include the needs of the staff impacted by the move to a net carbon zero economy by 2050 and the requirements for a just transition.
  • Identification of training/learning needs: Use sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes i.e. establishing that it really is a learning/training need, before developing L&D solutions.
  • Identification of training/learning needs: Consult with stakeholders to draw out relevant information and provide feedback to inform learning and training needs requirements.
  • Identification of training/learning needs: Use effective analytical skills to seek out and analyse information.
  • Identification of training/learning needs: Take ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate
  • Training/Learning design: Design, construct and structure training / learning resources to meet a variety of needs, which will include:
  • Training/Learning design: Research of delivery options and resources including digital / online / blended solutions (including identifying existing resources)
  • Training/Learning design: Planning programmes / sessions / modules

Training schedule

  • The apprentice will complete a Learning & Development Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship with our training provider B-Skill
  • The learning will be a blend of face-to-face and virtual and will be delivered over a 2 year period

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade C/4)
  • Maths (grade C/4)
