Summary

We’re seeking an apprentice to support our production team. The role includes kit assembly, stock management, UV printing, laser engraving and warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, booking and quality control. You’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple areas, becoming an integral part of our production process.

Wage

£14,918.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

The successful applicant will complete the below duties:

  • Assembly of automated gate safety devices, kits and computer aided laser engraving - using industry specific computer systems and working methods.
  • Update bespoke computer software for work orders and stock adjustments.
  • Quality control work carried out.
  • Pack efficiently and to exacting standards, following specific operating procedures.
  • Liaise with other departments to facilitate smooth completion of sales orders.
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping standards.

The role can be very fast paced, with the key learning opportunities being in shadowing current employees.

There will be a degree of repetition to the role, where mental agility and focus will be very important.

Lean Manufacturing Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification:

  • Following enrolment, learners engage in a blended programme of training and support that will include self-directed learning, email and face-to-face support from their trainer / assessor, as well as a programme of training devised by the employer.
  • Functional Skills in English and maths, if required.

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Mathematics (grade 4)

After this apprenticeship

The apprentice will gain experience of working in a team to meet deadlines and communicate clearly with the rest of the team on how the production is going and if we are on schedule. They will learn good time management and get the job done in a timely manner. 

We want the apprentice to progress internally and grow with us as a business. As the business grows, we expect them to take on more responsibility and become a valued member of the team.
