Summary
Vulcan have been established for over 40 years, servicing companies in different sectors from Recycling, Aggregates and Glass. As a belt vulcaniser, you would travel to different customer sites to fit new or repair conveyor belts.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Training is provided to assist in your progression and development. You will initially be working with an experienced fitter/vulcaniser in order to gain the required skills. We have successfully taken on five apprentices through similar schemes at our other business in the midlands.
Working in the workshop initially with our workshop supervisor.
In order to gain some skills, familiarity with equipment and to undertake the H&S courses needed for site work.

Training schedule
- Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship qualification
- In College one day a week over the full period of the apprenticeship
- The final year will involve completion of a portfolio and preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA). This measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the standard and is carried out by ESFA approved organisations independent from the college
- Apprentices without Level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this prior to taking the End Point Assessment
