Summary
We are a Doctors Surgery with a General Medical Services Contract. We have a list size of approximate 5400 patients. We are in a rural location in the beautiful town of Clare, it is a small practice, but has a lovely family feel about it. We have a fantastic team of Administrators who are very welcoming and supportive of new staff.

Due to the rural location, ideally the candidate will be able to drive, however this is not essential as there are limited bus links into Clare.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
We are looking for someone to support the Reception Team as well as the existing Administrative team.
Day to Day duties will include:
- answering calls to patients and signposting to appropriate clinician,
- processing clinical documentation received by post and electronically.
- Processing Prescription requests, summarising patient records to make sure the information is accurate and tidy, including scanning notes to patient records.
- Maintaining high levels of infection control procedures.
- Taking responsibility of your own workload and time management.
- Monitoring/processing Surgery Emails.
- Communication with Admin and Clinical teams.

The learner will be studying the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

- You will be enrolled into the NHS pension Scheme. - Display Screen Equipment used for long amount of time. - Self-Assessment will be completed to make sure working in comfortable conditions. - May be occasions where the member of staff will have to deal with dissatisfied patients. - Busy, fast paced environment.

The Guildhall Surgery is a small rural General Practice with approx. 5,300 patient on our list, We have 2 General Partners who are supported by a team of nursing and administrative staff We treat patients for all aspects of their general health care i.e. minor illness, long term conditions, urgent on the day treatment, minor surgery etc.

We have had apprentices in the past who have been offered permanent contracts upon completion of their course.
