Arkle Partners is looking for an eager and enthusiastic apprentice to join them as an Accounts Apprentice while studying to achieve their Accounts/Finance Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will have an interest to work and learn about business with a long-term goal to succeeding in the accounting field.

What you'll do at work
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in accounting by working for a company who will teach them as much as they are willing learn. The successful candidate will have a thirst for knowledge and a commitment to succeed in their future career in accounting. Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the purchase and sales ledgers efficiently
- Reviewing and creating sales invoices
- Sending invoices out copies to the customers and ensuring their accuracy
- Maintaining good relationships with customers
- Aiding in the credit control processes of the business ensuring the cashflow is secure
- Helping customers who have any queries ensuring a quick resolution
- Handling queries from the members of the sales team
- Processing and filing supplier invoices
- Checking supplier invoices against purchase orders and completed delivery notes
- Processing and filling invoices onto the system
- Maintaining good supplier relations paying suppliers on time with no delays in the receipt of goods occurs
- Ensuring that all supplier balances are correct in accordance with statements received
- Ensuring that the company bank accounts within our accounting system Sage50 are kept correct and reconciled
- Assist with any other accounting tasks as required to support the finance team

What you'll learn

- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- Maths (grade 9-4)
- English (grade 9-4)

Other requirements
18-month apprenticeship (training period) plus 3-month end point assessment Attendance will be at Chichester College for one day per week. There is plenty of parking available at the site (Becktech House, Terminus Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 8DW) Very close to public transport and city centre amentities. Applicants are not required to have a driving license. However, there may be occasions where travel to businesses, including overnight stays in hotels, is necessary. In such cases, travel arrangements will be made with a colleague who has a driving license and a suitable vehicle. This is an Apprenticeship Job so applicants MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for it. Applicants MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK. Applicants WILL NOT BE eligible to apply if they have already achieved a qualification which is equal to or higher thank the apprenticeship standard on offer. Applicants MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study.
