Summary
We are looking to appoint an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to support individuals and groups of children to enable access to learning, contributing to the development and maintenance of a purposeful, nurturing learning environment.

Please note that this is a term time only role so you will receive a pro-rata portion of the advertised annual salary. That equates to £242 per week or £12,586 per year for term time only plus one week

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Main Areas of Responsibility
As Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities include:
- To supervise and provide particular support for identified pupils, in 1:1, group or whole class situations, ensuring their access to learning.
- To assist in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work and teaching strategies, working with the teacher to ensure the provision supports each identified pupil’s learning needs.
- To assist in evaluating identified pupil’s progress through agreed assessment activities.
- To provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ achievement, progress and needs.
- To lead small group sessions and interventions as appropriate.
- To supervise children at lunchtime
- Promote good behaviour of students and make sure that pupils engage in the learning activity.
- Use of ICT and other equipment to enable pupils to achieve the objectives set by the teacher.
- Provide First Aid to students (Full First Aid Training will be provided).
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience of establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, at all levels.
• Experience of managing and being responsible for own workload.
