Summary

Blackshaws Sales and Lettings are looking to add another apprentice to their growing workforce. The ideal candidate will drive and have their own vehicle, allowing them to perform tasks both in the office and outside.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 6.30pm (1 hour lunch) Saturday - 9am - 6pm Sunday 10am - 2pm. Apprentice required to work 40 hours per week in between the opening hours. Weekend hours will for a day off during the working week

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • To register applicants into the database
  • To manage the database with regular contact to purge redundant applicants
  • To book viewings by calling the database and property matching, as well as downloading email and web leads, and requesting viewings
  • Obtaining regular feedback from viewers
  • Conduct property viewings
  • Prospecting - generate a tout list obtained by tracking properties that have been on the market with other agents for a period of time and not let. Generate a tout list by obtaining the addresses of the tracked properties and sending letters periodically to the property owners to gain their instructions
  • Various administrative tasks
  • Referencing potential tenants and drawing up tenancy agreements
  • Property Inspections
  • Dealing with property maintenance and instructing contractors
  • Front office - to meet and greet potential clients who come into the office and register their details on the system. Email out brochures to applicants visiting the office
  • Take part in the morning sales meetings and diary management for the day
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and the use of company systems on the PC and paper forms, including any requirements for money laundering and GDPR
  • Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence as they will be required to attend property viewings

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Customer Service: Apply a range of customer service skills in order to provide a professional, accurate, timely, ethical and non-judgemental front line service which meets the needs of a diverse range of customers and stakeholders
  • Communication: Demonstrate appropriate communication skills to enable timely identification and/or resolution of issues for customers and appropriate signposting to other colleagues and/or partner agencies.
  • Collaborative working: Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to achieve individual, team and business targets.
  • Respond to vulnerability: Use skill and judgment to understand the needs of vulnerable individuals and groups(including those with complex needs) and respond appropriately
  • Information collection and sharing: Use a variety of methods to identify, collect and communicate technical and other information in a confident and effective manner.
  • Influencing and negotiating skills: Influence and negotiate with customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Self Management: Organise and plan their own work to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines met.
  • Problem Solving: Use a problem solving and flexible approach in their day to day duties.
  • Tools and Equipment: Effective use of IT equipment and software, through administration and the appropriate use of work equipment
  • Decision making: Effective decision making in order to apply the businesses objectives and priorities.

Training schedule

  • Housing and Property Management Level 3
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • Candidates will work towards an End Point Assessment over the duration of the apprenticeship
  • 20% off-the-job learning is required
  • All learning will take place online with an allocated tutor

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

English and Maths (grade 4 or above)

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
