Summary

Candidate will be trained in all aspects of warehouse duties must have ability and willingness to be able to learn new processes and have aptitude to grasp and learn mechanical processes with training. Be computer/numerically literate to input data into spreadsheets and logs.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Pick products from stores, check, pack and arrange for dispatch as per dispatch notes
  • Modification of stocked products to meet bill of materials (full training will be provided)
  •  Report to Operations Manager and Warehouse Supervisor any service or maintenance required in your area of work
  • Assist as necessary in other work areas to ensure the efficient and smooth running of the Engineering Centre. Work as a full member of the team
  •  Keep the warehouse neat and tidy and all walk ways free of product, rubbish and debris.
  •  To ensure all recycle item are placed in the correct receptacle and general waste as such on a regular basis

  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Training schedule

The Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative apprenticeship will be delivered on site at the employers premises with a mix of onsite and online meetings with their assessor every 4 - 6 weeks.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

  • English (grade A* - C / 9 - 4)
  • Maths (grade A - C / 9 - 4)
