Summary

Indie Jones-Vaughan Eventing are looking for a dedicated equine groom apprentice, with good riding ability, are passionate about working in the equine industry and understand the commitment involved. The successful candidate will be given the platform and support to develop their skills and launch a career in the equine sector.

Wage

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Own horse welcome with the opportunity to have lessons with indie who is qualified and ridden at 4* Eventing as well as bring own horse to shows, events and clinics when space is available.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

General duties will include:

  • Mucking out
  • Grooming
  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Feeding
  • Maintaining the yard and fields

As a livery yard you will also be expected to be able to communicate with clients as well as work well in a team with others. There will be opportunities to learn how to break in young horses and to handle young stock. There are plenty of riding opportunities on this friendly family run yard and you will also have the chance to travel to events to groom.

All training will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and wil be carried out by Haddon Training.

  • Functional Skills in English and maths if required

GCSE in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
