Summary
The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of a mechanical technician as part of the site maintenance team. Looking after a wide range of equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, pressure equipment, steam boilers, chemical processing equipment.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance tasks from the CMMS.
- Attend to plant breakdowns
- Entering data into the CMMS and other IT systems
- Fault finding
- Installation of new plant and equipment
- Asset integrity inspections and testing, including equipment covered by PSSR
- Welding and fabrication – Tig and Mig
- Ensuring appropriate records are kept and maintained.
- Maintaining standards – safety, environmental, housekeeping and quality
- To be involved in continuous improvement activities
- Basic machining
- Overhaul mechanical equipment such as valves and pumps
