We have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility boasting an impressive array of cutting-edge machinery for the production of foundation drilling tools and we are looking to take on an apprentice welder.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
As an engineering operative apprentice you will become part of our team, fabricating and assesmbling drilling tools and equipment and utilising.
Main Duties:
- Mig Welding with Mild steel wire.
- Stainless steel wire and hard-facing wire.
- Oxy-actelyne cutting equipment.
- Welding rotator associated hand tools.
- Familiarisation with associated equipment within the facility
All work is to be carried out following health and safety protocols and adhering to quality standards.

- The learner will be studying the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
- Day release to West Suffolk College.
- Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
Maths and English (grade 4-9)Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
Our ideal candidate will be hard working, keen to learn, and have access to their own transport. Overtime may be available during busy periods. Our location is rural and there is no easy access through public transport, so access to your own transport is essential.
