Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic L4 Q Apprentice to join our vibrant and friendly team. You will work within our painting and decorating department and will be supported through your qualification with real experience to complement your learning.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
General duties including:
- Working closely with directors and the workforce on the day-to-day running of the business
- Review & Manage Tender documents and prepare bill of quantities
- Review and Evaluate cost estimates
- Chase all quotations to obtain projects orders
- Prepare quotes in detail
- Ensure timely completion of quotes
- Understand scope of work on projects
- Liaise with subcontractors
- Diary management
- Build Relationship with Clients
- Liaising with other commercial staff and operational staff
- Have a positive outgoing approach
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Any other ad-hoc duties

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Health and Safety: Apply health and safety issues to all activities.
- Sustainability: Demonstrate application of the principles of sustainability.
- Construction Technology: Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects
- Contracts: Be able to apply different types of contracts to different situations.
- Procurement: Assist in the selection of and negotiation with specialist contractors for a construction project.
- Cost control: Assist in the measurement and costing of construction works during a project.
- Financial reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, cash flow and cost forecasts for a construction project.
- Administration: Assist in the collection, collation and storage of relevant data and its analysis.
Your training plan
Training will be at Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer.
Day release.
You will undertake the Construction quantity surveying technician standard.

Other requirements
Based in Doncaster but we do work nationwide. You must be able to travel to and from work and college. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). Hargreaves and Stocks were founded in 2015, being formed from two established organisations based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The founding Directors, Wayne Hargreaves and Neil Stocks, have between them, over 40 years’ experience.
