Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Read and interpret technical drawings
- Fabricate sheet metal components using various tools and machinery, including press brakes, shears, and rollers
- Measure, mark, and layout sheet metal according to design specifications
- Assemble fabricated parts using welding, riveting, or other fastening methods
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality standards
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe working practices
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
