Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Read and interpret technical drawings
  • Fabricate sheet metal components using various tools and machinery, including press brakes, shears, and rollers
  • Measure, mark, and layout sheet metal according to design specifications
  • Assemble fabricated parts using welding, riveting, or other fastening methods
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality standards
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe working practices
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects
