Work

What you'll do at work
- Support the site manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily site activities
- Monitor health and safety compliance and carry out site inspections
- Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and site operatives to keep work on track
- Help manage materials, deliveries, and site documentation
- Attend site meetings and contribute to progress reporting and problem-solving

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
- Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
- Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
- Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
- Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
- Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
- Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.
Your training plan
Working towards a Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor apprenticeship standard. This will also include Functional Skills in English and maths if required. Training will be delivered in block release periods at AccXel Construction School, located in Gloucestershire (Address: AccXel Construction School, Cinderford, GL14 3JS).
Apprentices will attend structured training blocks throughout the year, covering key topics such as site supervision, health and safety, and construction technology. Between blocks, apprentices will return to site with JB Construction1 to apply their learning in real-world settings, supported by their employer and training provider.
