Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out basic repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and pipes
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Complete checklists and maintenance records
- Learn and assist with more complex mechanical tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Use hand and power tools (e.g., wrenches, drills, grinders) and test equipment
- Understand engineering science and technology principles
- Prioritise safety and identify workplace hazards
- Use basic computer software (Word, Excel)
- Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
