What you'll do at work
Aston Martin Nottingham have a fantastic opportunity for a Light Vehicle Technician Apprentice to join the family at their prestigious Aston Martin dealership. This is an exciting role with first-class training and will have outstanding long-term career prospects.
Duties will include:
- Working alongside qualified Aston Martin Technicians with the investigation, repair and service of vehicles
- Producing estimates
- Carrying out diagnostics
- Warranty work
- Assisting with MOT’s on Aston Martin vehicles
- Other general technical duties and general housekeeping
- Providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
The training will take place via block release at The Aston Martin Training Facility at Emtec College in Ruddington, Nottingham.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient workshop. Segregate waste for disposal or recycling. Comply with industry environmental legislation.
- Demonstrate due regard for own safety and that of others in the workshop and minimise risk of injury and vehicle damage.
- Carry out fundamental tasks associated with removal and replacement procedures on a vehicle.
- Obtain diagnostic and repair information.
- Interpret diagnostic information and use electrical wiring diagrams to determine system serviceability.
- Use a range of diagnostic equipment.
- Follow recognised diagnostic procedures, logical diagnostic sequence and apply advanced diagnostic principles and problem-solving techniques to establish faults.
- Report faults using company procedures and recommend suitable further actions.
- Follow recognised repair procedures to complete a wide range of repairs including those which involve complex procedures, or in depth knowledge.
- Test the function of repaired and fitted components.
- Adhere to business processes and complete documentation following workplace procedures.
- Use ICT to create emails, word-process documents and carry out web based searches.
- Complete a range of services and inspect and prepare a vehicle to the required quality standard for handover to the customer.

Your training plan
Candidates will work towards achieving the Light Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship Standard at Level 3. They will also be required to study towards achieving Level 2 maths and English functional skills if they do not already hold equivalent qualifications.
The training will take place eight separate weeks per year via block release to The Aston Martin Training Facility at Emtec College Nottingham.
The programme lasts for 36 months. The training incorporates underpinning knowledge in partnership and managed by EMTEC Colleges.

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
Maths and English (grade 4)Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
The candidate must be available to start immediately and be able to travel to the workplace according to the working hours. The candidate must be able to attend the block release training weeks at Emtec Colleges 8 weeks per year.
