Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Key Responsibilities:
Support for Pupils:
- Build positive relationships to support pupils' engagement and wellbeing
- Encourage teamwork and cooperation among pupils in learning and play
- Support individuals and small groups, including those with SEND or EHCPs
- Support play effectively at lunch and break times
Support for Teaching and Learning:
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and wider staff team
- Contribute to planning and preparing resources and activities
- Provide constructive feedback and celebrate successes as a team
Support for the Curriculum:
- Support delivery of core learning; phonics, literacy, numeracy
- Help adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
- Promote team-based learning strategies that build confidence and communication
Support for the School:
- Be an active and positive part of the school team, upholding the school’s values in all interactions
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals
- Support whole-school events, including assemblies, enrichment days, and community events such as the school fair, charity days, and local partnerships
- Attend relevant training and development sessions
- Contribute to school trips, clubs, and wider opportunities that enrich the children’s experiences

Your training plan
Teaching Assistant Level 3.
You will work within Acomb First School, Hexham and attend one classroom session every 3-weeks at a Northumberland Skills Campus within Northumberland.

GCSE in:
