Whether you are looking at developing the administration role or progressing through to paraplanning or advising, we will support you throughout. Your progression is our progression. Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • To provide administrative support to the Partner/Practice Manager to ensure that the Partner’s relationships with their clients can be optimised and assist with the daily operation of the office.
  • Provide high-level technical and administrative support to the Partner (Adviser)
  • Deal effectively with queries from clients and other parties through effective communication
  • Prepare files including required compliance documentation; research; illustrations and supporting documentation
  • Ensure that files are complete with all required client identification documentation and necessary application forms
  • Process applications accurately and record the required management information
  • Progress applications with product providers, advisers, clients, and other third parties to ensure that each case is completed in a timely manner
  • Carry out training as required to fulfil role effectively, online, in-house and externally (expenses will be paid where required)

Your training plan

Level 3 Financial Services Administrator apprenticeship standard.

The Financial Services Administrator apprenticeship is ideal for learners beginning an entry-level role in the financial sector.

As an entry-level role, this apprenticeship provides the foundation of knowledge, skills and experience for progression along a number of career paths. 

Key Learning Outcomes:

  • A broad understanding of the financial services sector
  • An understanding of the role of the appropriate regulatory bodies
  • The importance of relationship building with clients and colleagues
  • Understanding of processes and procedures relevant to the role
  • How to develop commercial awareness
  • Building skills and capabilities within an organisation

Professional Qualifications:

R01 - awarded by The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)

Completion of R01 will provide a solid foundation for the learner and could lead on to progression to study in other areas.

To help prepare the apprentice for the professional qualification, apprentices are provided with Simply Academy’s qualification resource package, alongside a structured study plan supported by a series of live revision sessions with our qualified tutors.

GCSE in:

English, Maths and 3 other subjects (grade 4/C or above)

A Level in:

2 subjects (grade D or above)

Other requirements

Public transport runs from Consett and Stanley, car parking (free) is available, no shifts or overtime is required. Office-based, working from home can be accommodated (infrequently) to assist with personal requirements.

Administration, through to Paraplanning (including further apprenticeship), through to Advising (full training given via St. James's Place) and ultimately business ownership if chosen.
