What you'll do at work
LM Global Telecoms Ltd are seeking a motivated and driven Apprentice Accounts Assistant to support their finance department while undertaking an apprenticeship in working towards a full AAT qualification. The successful candidate should have a strong interest in accounting and finance, with a desire to pursue a career in this field.
Main duties include:
Support the processing of invoices and payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory policies.
Help maintain accurate records of transactions and account reconciliations.
Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions.
Act as the first point of contact with customers for finance related queries.
Provide financial analysis and reporting related to telecoms services and projects.
Support the team with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Liaise with internal departments to gather financial data and assist colleagues with any finance queries.
Participate in the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
Applicants should have good IT skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software is advantageous but not essential.
Probationary period applies.

- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan
Accounts/Finance Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship
Full training in all of the above will be provided and the successful candidate will also attend fortnightly day release at Access Training.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)

Other requirements
Please ensure that you can travel to their Newcastle office for an 9am start. Please note that the company will be moving to a new office on the Team Valley in the near future. Applicants should be keen to develop a career in accountancy and be able to attend fortnightly day release sessions for the AAT level 2 Apprenticeship at Access Training on Team Valley, Gateshead.
