£12,955.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

What you'll do at work

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience working in a vibrant primary school while studying towards your Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification. Under the guidance of experienced staff, you'll support classroom activities, help pupils develop their learning and social skills, and contribute to the smooth running of the school day.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
    Working one-to-one and in small groups with pupils
  • Helping to set up and tidy away resources and learning materials
  • Assisting with planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Promoting positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Providing feedback and encouragement to pupils to help them reach their potential

What We’re Looking For:

  • A genuine interest in working with children and helping them learn
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) desirable, or willingness to work towards them
  • Commitment to completing the apprenticeship training alongside your role

  • Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
  • Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
  • Provide feedback to learners.

Your training plan

You will attend the London Rd Campus one day in every three weeks for taught input with online support sessions weekly and regular progress reveiws.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade C / 4 or above)
