Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist with setting up and maintaining classroom and office IT equipment (PCs, projectors, printers)
  • Learn to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues
  • Help maintain the IT asset register and equipment logs
  • Support staff and students with password resets and account setup
  • Shadow and assist with the administration of Office 365 and Google Workspace
  • Help maintain photocopiers and AV equipment
  • Participate in IT maintenance tasks during school holidays
  • Respond to IT support requests under supervision and escalate when necessary
  • Contribute to documentation and guides for users
  • Attend training sessions and complete coursework as part of the apprenticeship

Desirable qualifications

GCSE in:

  • GCSE English (grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent)
  • GCSE Maths (grade A*-C/9-4 or Level 2 equivalent)
