Responsive Engineering are a contract manufacturer based in the North East of England. We specialise in large, complex fabrications for the Defence, Energy and Rail sectors. We are recruiting to join our logistics team as an Supply Chain and Logistics Apprentice. You must be 18 or over for this for due to insurance purposes.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Raising purchase orders within the ERP system (Epicor)
- Goods Receiving within Epicor
- Serving as a point of contact for REL when working directly with subcontractors
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and advising when raw material and subcontracted parts has arrived
- Assisting in the creation of tenders for goods and services
- Expediting orders and escalating as required
- Monitor supplier performance and support the QCD monthly meeting (Quality Cost and Delivery)
- Support with invoice queries
- Learn and apply core supply chain skills to support both inbound (goods in) and outbound (goods out) logistics operations.
- Rotate across departments within Responsive Engineering to understand and support various aspects of production and supply chain processes.
- Assist in maintaining the timely flow of resources to manufacturing teams, ensuring all items meet required specifications and deadlines.
- Monitor and ensure customer deliveries are on time and in full, proactively progressing any delayed shipments.
- Investigate issues related to goods in transit, liaising with the relevant department and transport providers to gather facts, assess the situation, follow claims through to resolution, documenting and communicating outcomes.
- Support the claims process from initiation through to resolution, documenting outcomes and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders.

- Analyse data against supply chain key performance indicators to identify trends and themes that affect the fast-moving consumer goods supply chain.
- Plan and adhere to customer lead times.
- Use data analysis outcomes to inform decision making in the supply chain function.
- Develop and implement a supply plan, for example, supply planning, production planning, demand planning, operations planning - logistics, commercial planning.
- Use order management tools to capture customer orders.
- Communicate with others verbally for example, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Communicate in writing with others for example, internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
- Comply with health and safety legislation, regulations, standards, and guidance.

Essential qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
