Summary
You will train with us in every aspect of our daily operations and will eventually be able to operate in every part of our daily operations and form an important part of a small team. The work is very varied. We are friendly, informal and easy-going.

We are retailers, so Saturday working is expected, however one Saturday per month can be taken if required.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Your training plan
Level 2 apprenticeships:
Apprentices who have not achieved the equivalent of level 2
qualifications in maths and English, will need to achieve level 1
functional skills in these and work towards level 2 functional skills.

Apprentices will be allocated a Trainer Assessor and training will be
planned and delivered in conjunction with the employer to meet
the individual needs of the apprentice.
The apprentice will spend 20% of their working hours in off the job
activities and training.
On the job and off the job training will be delivered in the
workplace.

Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade Grade 9-3/A-D or equivalent)
- Maths (grade Grade 9-3/A-D or equivalent)

Interviews will be held face-to-face No two days are ever the same, the work is very varied, but listening skills, customer service and attention to detail are essential ingredients for every member of the team at Splatt. Retail Skills and dealing with customers face to face and building relationships with them is an essential part of our work and will form an important part of our apprentice’s development.
