Summary
To support all aspects of student learning and achievement across the school. Working alongside other apprentices, you will be part of a dedicated team who will support you to develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours. You will have one day off per week as a study day when you will be set assignments by your nominated tutor.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Key Duties:
- To support the learning and emotional/social/behavioural needs of students in accordance with Trust policies.
- To communicate regularly with subject specialists regarding student’s additional needs and to assist in the preparation of learning materials/resources.
- To prepare and host interventions with groups or individual students under the direction of the SENDco, providing tailored support to enable the students to access learning.

- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Your training plan
The Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard, in which you will receive training to develop and demonstrate knowledge, skills and behaviours, also includes:
- Level 3 Diploma – Supporting Teaching and Learning
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
- NCFE combined knowledge and competency-based qualification
- Work-based learning
- 20% off-the-job training
- Training is delivered online and face-to-face
- A nominated tutor
- Functional Skills in maths and English if required
Requirements
Desirable qualifications
GCSE or equivalent in:
- Maths (grade 4)
- English (grade 4)

Other requirements
Evening and weekend work may be required. You may be required to undertake duties as reasonably required with this grade. Satisfactorily meeting the Trust’s employment checks – a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (including any relevant overseas checks), health assessment, references, qualifications and legal entitlement to work in the UK.
