Summary

Wavertree Primary School are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about working with children, including those with special educational needs (SEN), and who is eager to develop a career in education.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and values, promoting equality, diversity, and acceptance of all learners.
  • Uphold and implement safeguarding policies and safe practices, including online safety and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENDCo, external professionals, and parents/carers to support pupils’ learning and development.
  • Reflect on your own practice and identify professional development opportunities with the support of colleagues.
  • Understand individual learner needs and use effective strategies to help all children achieve their goals.
  • Promote learner independence through engaging and inclusive activities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and consistently apply the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Support the emotional, social, and personal care needs of all learners, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Deliver small group and one-to-one support as directed by the class teacher.
  • Assist in monitoring, recording, and reporting on learner progress.
  • Help create a stimulating learning environment by preparing and maintaining engaging teaching resources.
  • Support or lead enrichment activities, such as school clubs, trips, and extra-curricular learning.

Your training plan

The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification.

More training information

Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.

GCSE in:
