Summary

IPL Global are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join their team as an Apprentice Tooling Engineer. You will receive in house training shadowing experienced engineers to learn how to repair and maintain moulding tools, fault find and problem solve at the press and much more.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Repair and maintain injection moulding tools
  • Carry out PPM to agreed schedule
  • Attend breakdowns, identify faults and problem solve at the press with minimal downtime to aid production
  • Evaluate each job and determine if it can be repaired in press or must be removed to Tool Room for essential maintenance and repair
  • Ensure quality of parts produced and that all work is completed to a high standard to meet quality standard regulations
  • Assist in tooling trials and support new projects from commissioning stages through to start of production
  • Operate forklift truck and lifting equipment

Your training plan

This is a Level 3 Toolmaker apprenticeship, delivered over a four year period.

The apprentice will attend the training centre, In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG, on a full-time basis for the first 7 months of the apprenticeship.

GCSE in:

English, Maths, science (grade 5 or above)

Other requirements

For this apprenticeship you will be required to be aged 18 plus due to shift patterns and hold a full UK driving licence, due to the nature of the work involved.
