Summary

Swarm Training is working with Birds Eye to find a passionate Level 2 Finance Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in finance within a well-established company and gain practical experience while working towards your Level 2 AAT qualification.

£14,918.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Help with the day-to-day finance work for the UKNI team
  • Assist the team with various finance tasks and processes as required
  • Support in preparing weekly and monthly financial reports
  • Learn to understand SAP transactions and their link to the production order process and factory results
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of annual transfer prices
  • Support with the administration of all product cost standards, to reflect the production recipe as per the product specification system
  • Support of the collation of charges for non-site Costs (e.g. TPV, Development and Head Office charges)
  • Support the finance team in the reconciliation of the monthly site results with SAP
  • Keep accurate records of all work for both statutory and internal auditing purposes

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Record transactional data.
  • Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
  • Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
  • Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
  • Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
  • Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

More training information

  • Training will be with Swarm Training, a national apprenticeship provider in the UK. The successful candidate will work towards a Level 2 Finance qualification, which takes 12-18 months to complete
  • The apprentice must complete a minimum of 6 hours per week during working hours, with monthly training sessions conducted by a tutor, with tasks assigned to be completed during those hours

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

English and Maths (grade B/6 or above)
