Summary

You will be assisting the day-to-day running of the special process department in heat treatment, passivation and fluorescent penetrant flaw detection, ensuring compliance and best practice within the special processes to internal. Customer and regulatory requirements whilst ensuring all internal health & environment requirements are fully met.

Wage

£14,918.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Ensure functions operate in accordance with any health & safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Reporting accidents, near misses or other concerns
  • Storing, retrieving, mixing and monitoring chemicals used in special processes.
  • Input and record relevant data
  • Troubleshooting issues
  • Maintain machines, tooling and good housekeeping at all times
  • Visually examine parts and processing
  • Auditing

  • Read and interpret drawings and product routings

Other requirements

The role will involve working with the special process lead, the flaw detection room is very quiet and dark. Although G&O is a close team in a small family business, this role may not suit a very sociable person as quite a few hours can be loan working. Therefore, very important the person can work independently and use initiative. Someone local to G&O or has their own transport preferable, however all applicants will be considered.
