Summary

You will be joining us on an 20-month programme focused on developing your data skills and business acumen. You will be working towards your Data Analyst (level 4) qualification. You will have the chance to learn through live interactive workshops lead by Data Scientists, via tailored online learning. You will also have a dedicated Data Mentor.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Develop your skills in data analysis, coding and data visualisation software
  • Work with business stakeholders to design and deliver analytical solutions and reports
  • Work with other data professionals including and business stakeholders to automate and productionise outputs
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a non-technical manner, providing advice, understanding and insight
  • Collaborate with individuals across LGIM
  • Have guidance from your team and manager who will support you and teach you the day-to-day role
  • Apply the knowledge and skills that you’ve learnt from your training into the role
  • Have the opportunity to meet and network with new colleagues within your team, but also across the wider organisation
  • Learn through live interactive workshops lead by Data Scientists and via highly tailored online learning and practice

What you'll learn

  • Use data systems securely to meet requirements and in line with organisational procedures and legislation including principles of Privacy by Design
  • implement the stages of the data analysis lifecycle
  • apply principles of data classification within data analysis activity
  • analyse data sets taking account of different data structures and database designs
  • assess the impact on user experience and domain context on data analysis activity
  • identify and escalate quality risks in data analysis with suggested mitigation or resolutions as appropriate
  • undertake customer requirements analysis and implement findings in data analytics planning and outputs
  • identify data sources and the risks and challenges to combination within data analysis activity
  • apply organizational architecture requirements to data analysis activities
  • apply statistical methodologies to data analysis tasks
  • apply predictive analytics in the collation and use of data
  • collaborate and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders using appropriate styles and behaviours to suit the audience
  • use a range of analytical techniques such as data mining, time series forecasting and modelling techniques to identify and predict trends and patterns in data
  • collate and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and convert into infographics, reports, tables, dashboards and graphs
  • select and apply the most appropriate data tools to achieve the optimum outcome

Your training plan

Join us on an 20-month programme which includes sponsorship to study for an industry recognised Level 4 Data Analyst Qualification, whilst building your business acumen.

You’ll receive on the job training and coaching from your line manager.  Alongside this you’ll complete training workshops and assignments, delivered by a leading apprenticeship training provider. Combined, these will fully equip you to be successful in your role, with the knowledge and skills required to apply to real world business challenges.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)

A Level or equivalent in:

3 in any subject (grade C or above(Avg 96 UCAS points))
