Summary
The Sales Order Processing (SOP) Apprentice will play an important role in providing accurate data entry support to our SOP team. As they grow in confidence, they will take responsibility for processing orders independently and they will liaise with other internal stakeholders to ensure customer enquires are dealt with in an efficient manner.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Support our Sales Order Processing team with data entry and essential admin tasks
- Independently process customer orders accurately and in line with internal protocols
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including Estimating, Sales, Logistics and SAS factories, to ensure customer orders are fulfilled and any enquires are dealt with effectively
- Build and maintain sound technical knowledge of the SAS product range
- Become skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Ensure apprenticeship tasks are submitted within agreed deadlines to an acceptable standard

- Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Your training plan
The apprentice will attend group training one day a month at WBTC offices in Newbury alongside a monthly training and review meeting with their training consultant. Functional skills, if required would be delivered remotely with either group or 1-1 tuition.

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
- English (grade 4 or C)
- Maths (grade 4 or C)
