Summary
The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Apprentice will have the opportunity to develop & enhance their skills and knowledge within the exciting and challenging Energy-from-Waste (EfW) industry, working closely with high-performing individuals to support a range of fast paced teams including, operations, maintenance, health & safety and environmental.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Study towards achieving a recognised qualification in Maintenance and Operations Engineering
- Follow an on-the-job training programme which will provide effective time with multiple departments across the facility
- Identify a project that will enhance plant performance, improve efficiency of a process or reliability of equipment, or improve health & safety
As you progress through your apprenticeship, you will assist the Rookery South O&M teams with the operational priorities of a state-of-the-art modern Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) which is capable of processing up to 675,000 tonnes of residual waste per year, whilst generating and exporting electrical energy onto the National Grid.
You will develop your knowledge and skills on the ERF technical processes, operate systems using world class technology, and develop a detailed understanding of the interconnected electro-mechanical plant and a focus on plant performance, availability and reliability.

GCSE in:
