Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Day to day tasks include:
- Checking in materials/goods
- Machine operation, including bandsaws of various brands and sizes
- Cutting various types of metals to various lengths and dimensions
- Gaining knowledge of varying materials and their tolerances
- Collecting various materials from storage units and transferring them to the machinery prior to dispatch
- Taking delivery of all materials and storing them in the correct place for size and length in dedicated bays
- Packing finished products
- Organising the delivery of goods
- Loading and unloading finished goods
- Using a forklift truck to move materials and finished products, training will be given

- This is a 15 month apprenticeship resulting in a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing qualification
- Training will involve monthly assessor visits from In-Comm Training Services in Telford
- There will be a total of 10 days of workshops taking place at In-Comm Aldridge, WS9 8UG

After this apprenticeship
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there will be a full time position available. Apprentice will have achieved the Lean Manufacturing qualification and their fork lift truck licence.
