This role would be ideal for someone who either wanted to move into sports coaching/ development with children and young people or who wants to work in education. Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
The role will include;
- Assisting with the delivery of physical activity, PE and school sport
- Supporting other classes across the school
- Organising and delivering activities over the lunchtime and after school periods

- Build relationships with learners, teachers, other professionals and stakeholders.
- Comply with legislation, guidance, and procedures for Prevent, safeguarding and health & safety.
- Support the well-being and mental health of learners.
- Observe, record, and report on learners in line with organisational procedures.
- Apply methods of formative assessment.
- Use up to date technology safely, to support learning.
- Encourage safe use of technology by learners.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support all learners (for example, scaffolding, open questioning).
- Identify and respond to pastoral and academic behaviours in learners.
- Provide feedback to learners.

Your training plan
- Applicants will follow a Level 3 Teaching Assistant training pathway specialising in PE, sport and physical activity
- LSSP Training will be a mix of blended learning; both face to face & virtual
- Face to face will be held centrally in Liverpool

- Delivered through LSSP as part of our local apprenticeship programme
- Training will be on a weekly basis

Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
Maths & English (grade L4 or above)Desirable qualifications
BTEC or equivalent in:
PE or Leisure (grade Pass)A Level or equivalent in:
