Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Duties will include:

  • Providing essential day-to-day care
  • Feeding
  • Grooming
  • Cleaning equipment
  • Handling, preparing, exercising the horses
  • Carrying out routine yard duties

The ideal candidate will be able to:

Your training plan

  • The successful candidate will undertake 15 months training to complete a Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship
  • All training will be carried out at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be delivered by Haddon Training
  • Functional Skills, maths and English will form part of the apprenticeship if the successful candidate doesn't already hold a level 4 or above for each subject

GCSE or equivalent in:

  • English (grade 4)
  • Maths (grade 4)
