Summary

You will be joining a team of enthusiastic and supportive staff who are committed to ensuring all children receive an inclusive education. Working under the supervision of the class teacher and alongside the wider team. This may include supporting children 1:1, leading interventions, supporting with assessments, and supporting with planning.

Wage

£12,955.80 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

With the support and supervision of the class team you will:

  • Deliver learning support individually and in groups through a range of tasks, for example, supporting literacy and numeracy tasks, clarifying and explaining instructions and Focusing support in areas needing improvement, both academic and social
  • Supporting pupils to use ICT and other equipment to enhance learning
  • Motivating and encouraging pupils to concentrate and to fulfil tasks
  • Undertake learning activities with pupils of varying abilities to ensure differentiation and access to the curriculum
  • Promote and reinforce pupils’ self-esteem, appropriate behaviour and levels of effort
  • Assist teaching staff in by preparing resources and maintaining a safe and suitable learning environment
  • Provide care and supervision of pupils within the classroom, within the school and, where appropriate, outside the school (school trips)
  • Work with pupils, either individually or in groups, who have some special educational needs, including dysregulated behaviour

  • Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional skills in maths & English (Level 2) (if required)
  • Will attend a taught college session once a fortnight

GCSE in:
