Summary

Darwen Vale High School (DVHS) is an 11-16 academy situated in the heart of Darwen. DVHS has been recognised as a rapidly improving school which is growing in student numbers. We are looking for a Learning Support Apprentice to support our students to achieve their full potential. This role is very rewarding and every day is different!

£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

What you'll do at work

As a Learning Support Apprentice at Darwen Vale High School, you'll play a crucial role in supporting students with medical needs and providing personal care

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Medical Support: Assisting with medical procedures under supervision, ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of students
  • Personal Care: Supporting students with personal hygiene, mobility, and day-to-day tasks with respect and dignity
  • Learning Support: Helping students engage in learning activities, promoting independence and success
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Working closely with healthcare professionals, teachers, and other support staff to ensure each student's needs are met

Your training plan

  • Training takes place in the workplace and off-the-job with your tutor
  • You will have one day a week to complete your coursework
  • You will meet your tutor every month

More training information

  • Your training provider is Aldridge Adult learning a grade 2 Ofsted rated training company
  • The course is broken down over an 18-month period and consists of written assignments, observation of practice and other assessment methods
  • You do not attend college all training is remote online or face-to-face with your tutor
