Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Using various hand tools for mechanical tasks
Replacing or repairing joints, bearings, bushes and other components as directed
Operating rotating wire wheel and grinding wheel machines
Operating lathes and hydraulic/mechanical presses
Performing MIG welding tasks
Spray painting finished assemblies
Wrapping and packing items securely for dispatch
Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of the facility, including sweeping
