Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Building and maintaining close professional relationships with suppliers, tenants, and colleagues both within the accounting and wider business is paramount to your success. Using your initiative will be encouraged.
The role requires a high volume of processing of financial data on behalf of our clients.
This role will involve working in multiple accounting teams to gain a complete understanding of the accounts service Workman LLP provides to its clients.
To be successful in this role, you will require a high level of attention to detail, strong organisational, prioritisation and communication skills as well as good team working skills and a desire to learn and develop within your role.
- Processing Supplier Invoices
- Receipting Cash Received
- Raising Customer Invoices
- Bank & Debtor Reconciliations
- Updating accounts control sheets
- Preparing of rental income transfers for our clients
- Running of various reports
- Any other duties that will ensure the smooth running of the accounting department.
- As you progress through your qualification, and move through the business, tasks will change to develop your skills along with your qualification.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Your training plan
Training will be provided by Runshaw College.
This Apprenticeship requires you to attend college 1-day week. You will be assessed through written work, verbal discussion and observation throughout your training.
More training information
EPA (End Point Assessment) – Towards the final few months of the apprenticeship you will complete your End Point Assessment. This includes a structured interview (supported by a portfolio of evidence summary) and an exam. Both assessment methods will be conducted and graded by an independent EPAO.
