Summary

Roger Teal Racing is offering an opportunity that will enable you to learn the skills needed to successfully care for racehorses to a high standard and provides a solid introduction to the industry. This apprenticeship also fulfils the BHA requirements for those looking to apply for a Jockey licence.

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

The successful candidate will be carrying out daily duties such as:

  • Riding several different horses each day
  • Mucking out
  • Feeding
  • Providing water
  • Grooming the horses at evening stables

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

GCSE in:

Maths and English (grade 4 or above)

Roger Teal Racing started in 2007 in Epsom Surrey, we moved to Berkshire in December 2015 each year the business has grown in numbers of horses along with the quality of horse in our care. We have trained 2 group 1 winners numerous group placed horses and listed race winners we pride ourselves on giving the horses the very best of care and attention within a happy environment.
