Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Assist in the assembly of R&D installations, ranging from small test rigs to medium-scale systems
  • Support in daily operations across all aspects of R&D including builds, testing, and setup
  • Help the team in the design-build process, including layout setup, parts handling, test runs, data collection, and characterisation of different systems
  • Apply basic engineering and scientific principles, including measurements, calculations, and graphical techniques.
    • Help maintain workshop safety, cleanliness, and equipment readiness following company procedures.
  • Set a strong example in timekeeping, teamwork, and attention to detail.
  • Support the fabrication and assembly of prototypes using tools and techniques such as: FDM 3D printing, SLS printing, CNC machining and Desktop PCB etching and cutting tools

GCSE in:
