You’ll talk to customers, work with other companies and make sure every claim is handled quickly and fairly. Alongside your Apprenticeship we will give you the training you need, so you can build your skills and grow with us. Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

  • Talk to customers and take down all the details when they make a claim
  • Check if the claim is covered by the customer’s insurance policy
  • Look after each claim from start to finish, making sure everything is done quickly and properly
  • Keep customers updated about what’s happening with their claim and answer any questions they have
  • Help solve any problems or worries customers might have about their claim
  • Always be friendly and helpful to make sure customers are happy
  • Collect all the information needed to look into each claim, like forms and photos
  • Work out what happened and how much damage or loss there is.
  • Work with other people, like experts, to make sure claims are sorted out fairly
  • Keep good records of all the claims you work on
  • Write reports when needed
  • Make sure you follow all the rules and company guidelines
  • Talk to customers and other companies to agree on fair payments
  • Make sure payments are made quickly and correctly
  • Always follow the law and company rules when handling claims
  • Tell your manager if you think a claim might be fake or dishonest
  • Keep all customer information private and safe

  • Identify information from a range of sources to determine an appropriate course of action including a recommendation, a decision or a referral.
  • Analyse data to make evidence based decisions.
  • Apply organisational quality assurance policies and procedures in their role and within the limits of own authority.
  • Apply appropriate method of communication for audience and circumstances.
  • Records, verifies, maintains and where appropriate, shares information.
  • Compliant with relevant governance, policies and procedures.
  • Identify work with stakeholders and creates and maintains a network of stakeholders needed to undertake casework effectively and to conclusion.
  • Balances competing priorities in order to meet deadlines.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships.
  • Work as part of a team to help achieve results.
  • Identify potential claims fraud and determine the correct action to prevent loss.
  • Manage insurance claims and/or payments within the limits of responsibility in line with policies and procedures.

  • Recommend insurance and premiums decisions within the limits of responsibility and in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Gather and interpret relevant information to provide a return on insurance decisions.
  • Match client’s needs with available insurance products and services.

Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

5 GCSE's including English and Maths (grade (A*-C/9-4 or equivalent))
