Summary
Working at our busy headquarters in Abingdon the successful candidate will experience a number of engineering disciplines. As part of a small engineering team you will be involved in activities such as production of parts in our machine shop, computer aided inspection of in-house and supplied parts, assembly operations and component testing.

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Machining components on manual & CNC equipment
- Inspection of parts using CMM technology and a range of other equipment
- Setting, operating and recording results from bearing test equipment
- Computer aided design

Your training plan
Duration:
13 months practical training period, plus 3 months for End Point Assessment
Delivery model:
- Work-based training with your employer
- Day release during term time (approximately 2 days a week for 1 year)
- Regular meetings with your training coordinator to monitor progress and well-being
- Off the job training will count for at least 6 hours a week of an apprentice’s time at work
Qualifications included
- Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations (Skills)
- Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)
- Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship
End Point Assessment:

Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in:
English and Maths (grade A* to C / Level 9 -5)Desirable qualifications
GCSE in:
