Summary

SCT is offering an Apprentice to join our Adult Learning Team to provide Administrative and Customer Service Support to our Programme Managers and Learners. You should apply if you are looking to work in a supportive learning environment and have a strong work ethic.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

Duties to include, but not restricted to:

  • Respond to incoming requests for support from admin@sct.co.uk  
  • Destination tracking of learners
  • Employer and learner surveys
  • Franking and sending post
  • Ensure all certificates that arrive in centre are scanned and placed in candidate library
  • Update management information system (ICQ) ensuring all information is present and correct
  • Support trainers with requests for printing or copying
  • Provision of general admin support in relation to a variety of tasks that may be requested by any of the Team Leaders or Management team
  • Communicate with participants, trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of training programs 

General Duties:

  • Answer telephones in a professional manner - ensuring any messages are relayed efficiently
  • Meet and greet visitors in a professional manner
  • Ensure all SCT Policies and Procedures are followed
  • Have a good understanding of Funding Partners and the contract requirements
  • Participate in training sessions or training programmes related to your job role
  • Participate in staff meetings
  • Any other duties as requested to meet the needs of SCT

  • Actively participate in the preparation for OFSTED, MATRIX and any other ESFA Audits
  • Support SCT in safeguarding any child, young person or adult you come into contact within your daily role through your understanding of all relevant SCT policies and procedures
  • Promote British Values, including equality and to treat everyone with fairness and dignity
  • Recognise that health and safety is a responsibility of every employee, to take reasonable care of self and others and comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Safeguarding is the responsibility of all - report any areas of concern to DSO
  • Health and Safety is the responsibility of all - report any areas of concern to Health & Safety officer at SCT

What you'll learn

Course contents
  • Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
  • Depending on your job role and work environment: Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
  • Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
  • Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate patience and calmness.
  • Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
  • Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
  • Maintain informative communication during service recovery.

Your training plan

Customer Service Practitioner Level 2.

Your training will take place in the workplace. At least 6-hours a week protected Learning and Study time.
